Kevin Conroy talks Arkham Asylum 2

Kevin Conroy, voice of Batman for “Batman: The Animated Series” and “Batman: Arkham Asylum recently appeared as the main feature of The Kevin Conroy Spotlight panel held at this weekend’s inaugural Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo. Here’s what he had to say about Arkham Asylum 2
“It’s really, really dark”
Straight to the point really. The actor said the sequel’s tone would be reminiscent of “Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker” one of the darker animated Batman ventures. According to the article Conroy also let slip that Two-Face would be appearing in the new game and immediately realised his mistake. “There’s a very complicated cast,” he laughed after collecting himself. “A lot of villains are in it. I’ll just leave it at that!” Conroy discusses the character that would define his acting career in depth in the full article here.

I’ve been testing out the new Steam UI recently and I have to say its very simple to use. Valve have thrown out the fancy graphics and transitions that seem to be so popular today, in favour of a more back to basics design. Click the image above for a closer look.
I think its a triumph.
Ipad Banned in Israel!

Israel has effectively banned the Ipad from entering its country until further notice. The device , which is only available in America for the time being, uses American broadcast power levels. The Israeli Communications Ministry announced that custom agents are now forced to confiscate all iPads coming into the country. A decision that follows “the refusal of the ministry’s engineering staff to compromise on testing the device’s suitability and compliance with Israeli wireless networks” reports Haaretz, a local newspaper.
At Ben Gurion Airport ten iPad’s have already been confiscated, Perhaps this is a plot by over eager custom’s agents that couldn’t wait to get an iPad. But one things for sure don’t pack your iPad if your going to Israel.
Continue →Alan Wake is Really Good

Alan Wake is really good apparently. That is according to Nick Cowen, a reviewer for the Telegraph, who has played through the first 2 episodes so far and wrote on Twitter:
Played through episodes 1 and 2 of Alan Wake. Really, unbelievably good!
Hopefully the remaining episodes are just as good, I’ve been waiting for this one for a long time folks. Here’s hoping it lives up to our expectations.
Now some new screen shots to tide us over.

Continue →Crysis 2 May Look Better On PS3

Now we all know that the PS3 has more power under the hood that the Xbox 360 (sorry 360 fanboys that’s just the way it is). So it may come as no shock that Crytek had a much easier time getting their new CryEngine 3 running on the PS3 than the Xbox and due to the PS3’s power advantage its getting slightly better performance.Crytek’s business development boss Carl Jones had this to say. “We’re lucky in the fact that we’ve come to the generation slightly later than other people – the ones who were trying to build the first technology and games were surprised at how different the PS3 was. We took our time and worked out the right way to approach it.”
At the moment, we’re getting slightly more performance from PS3 compared to 360. I’m very confident that products using CryEngine 3 are going to come out as the best looking, or at least in the top three, on every platform.
Whether any real difference in graphics quality and frame rates between the PS3 and 360 versions exists remains to be seen. With technology becoming more advanced every year, perhaps this is as far as the ageing tech inside the 360 can go, whereas the PS3 may have a little bit more to give before it reaches its “Crysis” point. See what I did there.
Doesn’t matter anyway the PC version is going to kick both console version’s asses off.
