Posted in Podcasts, Show by Stephen Colfer // 04.06.2012 // 0

Stephen poses with Chris' "Waterfire"

Hello? This thing on…? We’re back, after months of College and Employment Chris and Stephen are finally graduated and unemployed enough to start bashing out Podcasts again. Today we’re telling tales from our time playing  DayZ, the hardcore zombie survival mod for ArmA II thats taken us all by surprise. To be honest I think you need some idea of what the game looks like before listening to us so have a look at this first:

Some links mentioned in this weeks episode:

Also a correction: E3 has already started, there was a delay between us recording this and releasing it. We’ll have more than one E3 related Podcast coming soon.

Games of Christmas: Arkham City

Posted in PC, PlayStation, Podcasts, Reviews, Show, Xbox by Stephen Colfer // 12.12.2011 // 1

Batman listens to our Podcast. Do you?

So we got behind on Podcasts for a bit there. Here’s our solution: Between now and Christmas we’ll be releasing several Podcasts each about one game released this Q4. Kicking off with Arkham City right here. Heber and Stephen discuss Arkham City and eventually Batman in general for well over an hour. This Podcast goes into heavy spoilers after about 15 minutes but well warn you. Also don’t forget to check out Heber’s weird Bad Photoshop blog thing, Stephen thinks the Harry Potter one is good. Follow Stephen and Heber on Twitter as well.

The Chronic Reload Podcast is our podcast for Irish Gaming News and is released every two weeks. In the weeks between these we talk about everything and anything in The Chronic Rant Podcast. Don’t forget you can subscribe to both podcasts in iTunes here.

Players: Resident Evil

Posted in Players, Podcasts by Stephen Colfer // 21.11.2011 // 1

Wow. What a Mansion.

Hello there and welcome to the first episode of “Players,” a new Series of Podcasts / Radio Plays produced by Chronic Reload. In each episode trained and/or experienced Actors are given classic Video Game scripts and asked to perform them as sincerely as possible. We hope the results to be hilarious, nostalgic and sometimes both.

This episode features the opening Mansion Sceen from Capcom’s “Resident Evil” (or “Biohazard” if you’re Japanese) originally released on the Playstaion in 1996. The game famously featured some pretty horrendous dialogue which is on display here as Barry, Jill and Wesker enter The Mansion and encounter their first Zombie. This week Eddie Murphy joins us as Barry, Siobhan Bolton as Jill and Stephen Colfer as Wesker.

If you’ve some ability to wield your voice in front of a Microphone and would like to take part in a future episode or  if there’s any scenes you would like to hear send us an e-mail. As with all our Podcasts we expect this series to evolved over time based on your feedback so tell us what you think in the comments below and by e-mail stephen@chronicreload.com

This weeks episode is available to listen to and download below. You can subscribe to Players in iTunes via “The Chronic Reload Podcast” where new episodes will automatically appear along with new episodes of our Gaming Podcast.

Battlefield 3 has finally hit the shelves and to mark the occasion here’s a quick video playthough of Operation Firestorm on 64 man Conquest. Don’t forget to turn up to 720p for maximum lovely. Despite our menu and UI related criticism we pretty much love this game. Expect a review of the Single Player next week and of the Multiplayer gradually over time.

The Chronic Reload Podcast: October 19th and Stuff

Posted in Podcasts, Show by Stephen Colfer // 19.10.2011 // 0

Worth every Penny.

Stephen, Chris and Heber talk news and games. How much crap will you take to play Arkham City? Where has Assasin’s Creed gone to and where was it going to?  Did Hitman Absolution show us the wrong 15 minutes? And is Portal 2: Peer Review more difficult than Portal 2 or are we just getting more stupid? All this and more! Heber brought chocolate but Stephen bought a hat.. Don’t forget you can follow Stephen, Heber and  Chris on Twitter.

The Chronic Reload Podcast is our podcast for Irish Gaming News and is released every two weeks. In the weeks between these we talk about everything and anything in The Chronic Rant Podcast. Don’t forget you can subscribe to both podcasts in iTunes here.

Chronic Rant Podcast: Technical Difficulties

Posted in Chronic Rants, Podcasts by Stephen Colfer // 14.10.2011 // 1

Now we Know

Hey everyone. So this week’s podcast is a little broken, Basically Chris’ audio goes out of sync and doubles up every now and then for preventable reasons in hindsight. The best version I could mix is here but it’s far from perfect. Should you choose to listen you’ll hear myself, Chris and Heber rant about Table Quizes, Internet Nobodies and Satellites. You can follow Stephen, Heber and  Chris on Twitter.

The Chronic Rant Podcast is our podcast for just about anything in a geeky sort of way and is released every two weeks. In the weeks between these we talk about Video game news in The Chronic Reload Podcast. Don’t forget you can subscribe to both podcasts in iTunes here.
